I wonder sometimes what makes so us attracted to technology. I for example used to dream about the "communicators" that the crewmembers used in the old Star Trek shows. I wanted one so bad because it had those cool buttons and a swirly gizmo. Today I look at my cell phone as a communicator that has come out of a 60s' sci-fi series. But I don't hold the same fascination; heck I lost the one I just acquired. How much do we need to talk to one another? How much should we devote to some device that is easy to lose or drop into a toilet or die, as you’re distracted while driving a car? But no, once, I lost mine and recently went thru a sort of withdrawal because I needed my instant communication device. Like a baby souring and pouting as the pacifier is suddenly removed. I didn’t like that sort of attraction to this facet of technology as I have always felt pretty much a quiet person that tends to shun constant interaction with people. I mean if I need a phone I pick the one up in my house or find a pay phone if must. As time has passed now I don't miss the dreadful thing.
